- DOOM II – Original Version: The army of hell has invaded Earth. To save the planet, you must destroy even more dangerous demons using devastating weapons. The popular sequel to DOOM (1993) introduced players to the super shotgun, the iconic Icon of Sin boss, and even more intense gunfights.
- TNT: Evilution: The UAC has continued its experiments on one of Jupiter’s moons. Mistaking a spaceship for a supply ship, the base is overrun by hordes of demons. All your followers have been killed or turned into zombies. This time, you’re not fighting for your life. It’s time for revenge.
- The Plutonia Experiment: Top scientists have worked hard to close seven interdimensional portals to hell, but one could not be sealed. You must infiltrate the ruined base alone, destroy the demon guarding the gate, and close the last portal before the undead take over the world.
- Master Levels for DOOM II: This add-on includes twenty more levels that match the intensity of the original game. Each level was created by independent authors and selected by the id Software team.
- Sigil: Released by id Software co-founder John Romero, this mod of an episode includes 18 new maps set between DOOM (1993) and DOOM II. Fight your way through this terrifying center of evil and destroy Satan’s most dangerous henchmen before returning to Earth to save it.

Doom II is truly a cornerstone of video gaming and remains a must-have for fans of FPS and thrilling action. Although the graphics have aged, the remastered version on Xbox Live manages to refresh the visual experience while preserving the gripping apocalyptic atmosphere that made the original a hit. In terms of gameplay, Doom II lays the foundation for modern FPS with smooth movements and intense action that provide immediate satisfaction. The game offers solid longevity with its 32 levels, five difficulty modes, and countless secrets to uncover. The soundtrack is a hard rock masterpiece, amplifying the intensity of every battle. Even though the storyline is simple, it perfectly sets the stage for this demonic slaughter. Doom II is a must-have to relive the origins of a genre that continues to captivate players worldwide.
When discussing Doom II, one question frequently arises: is it truly a sequel with its own identity, or just a more polished version of Doom? In my opinion, Doom II is Doom on steroids. The similarity in tone and gameplay is undeniable, but upon closer inspection, the difference in quality between the two games becomes even more striking.
Improving an already excellent bestiary? It’s possible. Doom’s greatest strength was the richness of its enemy roster, and Doom II not only expands it but does so brilliantly. In the first Doom, you had to deal with 7 enemies, learning their movements, strengths, and weaknesses, which was the core of its gameplay. In Doom II, the number of adversaries doubles, and they are formidable. The Pain Elemental spawns Lost Souls endlessly, the Arch-Vile can kill you in one hit and resurrect its allies, the Revenants launch homing missiles, and the Mancubus fires salvos of fireballs.
More than ever, your nerves and tactical sense will be put to the test. Dodging attacks from five Imps is one thing, but surviving an assault by two Arch-Viles or a dozen Mancubi is another. Doom II doesn’t just serve as a sequel; it redefines the standards of the genre.
