‘Mario Golf’ is the next Nintendo 64 game coming to Switch Online

The Switch’s Nintendo 64 catalog will welcome a newcomer in just a handful of days. It’s the iconic Mario Golf, which has had many iterations on the Japanese manufacturer’s various consoles.

As always, it’s important to remember that in order to run Nintendo 64 and Mega Drive games on Switch, you need an active subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack ($49.99/year). It also provides access to free DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

So, after the release of Mario Golf: Super Rush last year, it’s the turn of the first opus in the franchise to land on Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo 64 episode will be added to the console’s catalog on April 15. Of course, it will be the original title without any visual improvements. So you’ll have to make do with somewhat rudimentary 3D graphics. The content will also remain unchanged.

In short, this Mario Golf is mainly aimed at nostalgic players who will be able to happily replay a game that (perhaps) marked their youth. Other Nintendo 64 titles should be coming soon to Switch.
