Original Dying Light gets next-gen PS5 patch, Xbox on the way

After the successful launch of its second opus, it’s the turn of the first Dying Light to return to the forefront. Released last year on Nintendo Switch, Techland’s game is now heading to next-gen consoles.

Already noticed last October, the next-gen version of Dying Light will finally take the form of a simple update. Before going into the improvements brought by this free patch, it is important to specify that it is only available on PlayStation consoles for the moment. Xbox players will have to wait.

Let’s start with the contributions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. Dying Light has three distinct modes. We have the performance mode at 60 FPS with a Full HD resolution, a balanced mode that aims at 60 FPS (with probably some drops), but in 1440p, and finally, the one that favors visual fidelity in 4K at 30 FPS. On PS4 Pro, an improvement has been made on the framerate which remains at 30 FPS. Finally, on Xbox Series S and Xbox One, the high-resolution mode reaches 1440p with a target of 30 FPS and the one that favors performance at 30 FPS for a Full HD definition.

The upgrade is available for immediate download on PlayStation. For now, Techland has not given a precise date for the arrival of the patch on Xbox.
