Naughty Dog’s title is still hiding some secrets. Indeed, it seems that cosmetic elements from the multiplayer mode of The Last of Us Part II appear in the game.
Unlike the first opus launched in 2013, The Last of Us Part II does not include a multiplayer dimension. The Californian studio preferred to develop this component independently of the campaign, which should lead to the upcoming release of a multiplayer standalone. But, at the time of the conception of the game, Naughty Dog had probably already worked on the multiplayer…
The find comes from content creator Speclizer on YouTube (video below). In the files of The Last of Us Part II, the main interested party has unearthed three armors that would come from the multiplayer mode at the time “abandoned” by Naughty Dog. These models were obviously not completed and could only be prototypes that were not intended to be used in the final version.
Other elements from the multiplayer, such as equipment packs (stealth, assault, support…), were also found, but they could not be activated in-game. Naughty Dog is expected to reveal its intentions about The Last of Us Part II online very soon.
